  • St. Sebastian came from the city of Sevasti in Phrygia and was taught the Christian faith by the apostle Paul, and received the warmth and courage of her teacher.

Saint Sebastian lived in the 1st century AD. and used her life every day for the truth of the Gospel (in Markianoupolis, Thrace). He went to pagan houses and attracted many women from them to the Church. She was arrested for this during the reign of Emperor Dometian and ruler Sergius, abused and expelled from her place.

He arrived in Heraklion, Thrace, where he was arrested again, by the ruler Pompeian, and imprisoned. But her feminine nature shamed her tormentors. The promises did not tempt her, the threats did not bend her, and under heavy torment she stood with all her generosity. St. Sebastian's flesh was torn, but her lips, as well as her heart, continued to praise Christ. Eventually, this great athlete of our Church, gave her life with the death by beheading and was buried in Redestos.

It celebrates on October 24 of each year.
